thing a book writing software can not do for you is to write your book. That is something that is really up to you. Stay away from ones that claim to generate writing for you. There are however some that let you keep track of your ideas. With the help of the right program you can hand in something original that looks neat, professional and doesn’t have any errors. That may not enough to get you published if you do not have good material, but on the other hand, if you send in a top notch story that has a sloppy presentation, you run the real risk of someone tossing it in the trash before they give it even a chance. That would be too bad. So, you want to think of this kind of formatting and presentation software as really an investment in your writing efforts.

There are a lot of book writing software programs out there, like Writeitnow, NewNovelist. And, basically they do the same things are all mostly good choices, but you may find that you prefer one over another. There are a few features you need when you write a book and want to send it out to someone for consideration. Make sure the software that you want to buy has all that you need. You can even find some that are free, though the freeware might not do all that you need it to do.

Considering the old days, writing a book now is so much easier than it used to be. But, you still need to have a good plot and story to write something that someone else wants to read. That has not changed. You can put everything together in a final form much more easily today because of the super efficient word processing services of your even your lowest end PC or Mac. Gone are the days of typing out page after page on a mechanical typewriter hoping that you did not make a big mistake on a page and have to start typing that page all over again. And, you no longer have to go out and get copies made somewhere else, as you can now just print from your own computer as many times as you want. You want to be mindful to back up your files. For help with setting things up, book writing software can be wonderful.

How you format your writing depends on where you want to submit your work, but most publishers want to see your name and the name of your book on each page in the header, and you should have a page number in either the header or the footer. Get software that offers headers and footers (as most of them do) and also one that can number the pages for you rather than putting the same number on each page. If you have ever made such a numbered footer, you will find that there are some programs do not number it sequentially for you, believe it or not.

Your software should also be able to help you edit and format your pages so that you have no misspellings and also that your margins are as needed and your font is what you want. Choose something simple and widely used as anything else unexpected could be a turnoff for a potential publisher. And you can’t blame them. Use the spell check feature and if your book writing software does not come with one, you should get something else. Even the best writers can spell something wrong once in a while and it is best if your software catches it before you send it out. Some even catch grammatical mistakes.
